Well, lots of stuff has happened lately.

Obviously, there’s the whole Uni thing. Grr…. but its ok, it’ll soon be over (for a few weeks, at least)

On the “computergeeky” side of life, I have acheived a fair bit, which I am very happy about. I have:

• A working, dedicated, TF2 server (although, it doesnt have enough internet bandwidth to support more then about 4 people… but so what, its a start. And im happy with it.
• I have a working Ventrilo server up and running, for the clan. (Its running on the same box that the TF server is, which i am fairly happy about constantly on, always up for a chat… its good.
• I have a TS server also, but I do not have the client, so I cant actually use it.     
• Finally got a working NAS up and running (its running off a P3 in the shed, 250gig of shared storage space avalible to the house, now :). It can be mounted via the router, to any windows / linux box in the house (Or, in theory, off the net too… but I dont have those ports forwarded. Thinking about it, but there’s not much point at the moment).
• I have my own firewall. The shed is now completly my own network, (although its still a subdivision of the house… the day I work out how to get around the router entirly and leach straight from the cable connexion will be a good day!)

On the not-so-geeky side of my life, lots has been happening. After meeting up with an old friend from school a few months ago, ive started catching up with her a fair bit more, which is very good. Ive also gone way out of my comfort zone, been going to clubs! (Or pubs… im not sure what the difference is, its maybe a pubby-club? or a clubby-pub? Hmm…)

Anyway. I need to do uni homework, (bane of my life, i swear). Plus i need to stay awake, expecting a call

Its raining, and I am bored.

That pretty much says it all; I have alot of uni homework to be doing, but this is another way in which my avoidance can continue for a few minutes.

The rain is good; I walked from the bus to home, with the rain dripping off my face, the sky overcast – surrounded by grey. Its a good feeling, really, and one which I dont get enough. I am so glad winters back.

Anyway, I just discovered that I can blog from word 2007. This is one good thing about this word (and, IMO, the only good feature I have discovered so far). Its taking a while to get used to it – take the stupid circle thingo in the top left corner. How was I supposed to know that that’s the menu? When has windows *ever* used icons like that? From Windows 3.1 to Windows XP, (yep, ive so far been successfully avoiding Vista), there has *always* been a “file”, “edit”, etc bar up the top. Its just how Windows is.

But, not any more. And so I must relearn everything (which is good, in a way – more avoiding uni homework ;))

MS Office just crashed when I tried to “insert category”. I was under the impression it meant “choose a catagory from which to insert something”, (I was gunning towards there being a “picture”, “table”, “URL” or similar category). I didnt realize it meant a wordpress category …

However, thankfully it recovered my documents that I had open (*phew*, I didnt lose that uni work… oh wait, that docs empty…)
